Pecsa was one of the 11 companies selected to integrate the 2nd edition of the Sustainability Innovation Guide in Micro and Small Companies, an initiative of the Center for Sustainability Studies of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (GVces) and Página 22 Magazine. Held today, December 7, at FGV’s headquarters in São Paulo, the launch event of the Sustainability Innovation Guide was attended by investors, journalists, students and other stakeholders.
To be part of the Innovation Guide, Pecsa has undergone a rigorous selection process. In the final stage, field verification, the evaluators were able to learn more about Pecsa’s innovative sustainable practices, such as the co-investment partnership model developed by the company. This model brings to the field a sustainable intensification system based on pasture reform, implementation of new infrastructure and application of business management practices.
According to Laurent Micol, Director of Governance and Investments at Pecsa, this recognition is important because Pecsa believes that the sustainability path is the only way to solve the pasture degradation situation observed in many parts of the Amazon region. “After just one year of operation, Pecsa is demonstrating that it is possible to increase cattle ranching production many times in the Amazon without deforest new areas, and also generating economic, social and environmental returns.”
